MP3 Cutter Joiner Free is two apps in one – an MP3 cutter to trim, edit, and mix your audio files, and an MP3 joiner to merge as many audio files as you wish into a bigger one. Apart from MP3, these programs support WMA, WAV, and Ogg files for the output and a larger number of audio formats for the input, including FLAC, AIFF, VOX, and RealAudio. The MP3 cutter can also rip an audio track directly from your favorite CD.
MP3 Cutter Joiner Free installs as two completely independent software tools, each with its own desktop icon, interface, and functionality. They both share the same look and feel, though, which may be confusing at times. I’d rather have both functionalities packed up in a single compact interface, but that’s simply a matter of personal choice.
The MP3 Cutter allows you to load existing audio files in any of the various formats supported or rip one of your favorite tracks from a CD. The file selected will be displayed as a waveform where you can easily select the fragment to extract. You can select the start and end points by dragging your mouse over it, or you can key in their precise time references with an accuracy down to the millisecond. The highlighted fragment can be played back using the program’s audio player, so you can check that the selection you made is correct. If you cut or trim the selected fragment, the waveform graph will display this section only, allowing you to zoom in it and out as required for even higher accuracy. Regrettably, slicing a large audio file into equal parts is not possible using this tool, at least not automatically. more
